The Unicorns and the Making series is a shared collaborative project between myself and Emily Lehman that incorporates crudely made fantasy-like costumes, masks, and props into surreal and absurd performance and video.
“Flamingo” is a project that I originally created for a pop-up show that was a hotel suite at the Midtown Manhattan Hilton in New York City.
I did a performance piece for my spring 2017 graduate review which incorporated some sculptures that I made along with some costume pieces.
“Puppyhood” consists of a large puppy head and soft beige garments. An unopened zipper goes across his crackled muzzle, making him unable to speak.
“Floppy” is a pretty absurd silly thing that I made. I created a mold of a wooden bedpost, which I then cast completely in silicone.
