weenie (2013)

In the Autumn of 2013, I took part in a six-week artist residency at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta. At the conclusion of the residency, I presented the work that I completed here in a gallery space on the campus. I titled this show “weenie.” There were several sculptural works in the exhibition and they touched on themes/issues such as beauty of sexual objects (Cacktus), lust (Willy), online relationships and sexual role-play (Book), conflicted pride (Hide), and helplessness (Bandage). More specifically, this residency provided myself an opportunity to come to a sort of personal embrace and subsequent sharing of my own sexuality.
